What’s the best camera for wedding photography?

What camera should I buy?

I’m not sure where this one came from, why does it make a difference? It’s a question I’ve been asked quite a few times recently, as if it makes a difference?

The camera is just a tool. It’s what we use to make photographs and capture the moments. Some take photos quicker, some have bigger sensors, some have a higher resolution than others. There isn’t a perfect camera, that’s for certain.

Just because it’s newer doesn’t mean it has the ability to take better photographs than a 10 year old camera. After all, it’s the photographer who makes the photograph. the one who sees. And we use the cameras to record what we see. If you don’t have the vision to see what makes a good photograph it doesn’t matter what camera you have, you’ll never take a good one.

I am currently using Fujifilm cameras, this doesn’t mean they’re the best or anything like that. I just like how they feel, the image files they produce, how they make me shoot as a photographer. I like using it as a tool and how it helps me on a long wedding day. I might change it up one day, but right now i’m happy with what i’ve got.

Lenses are an addition to the camera. I prefer shooting using one or two focal lengths. It makes your images make more sense when you’re looking through them. If a photographer is using 5 or 6 different lenses on your wedding day and confuses the brain when you’re looking through your gallery.

Just remember when you’re looking through a photographers work, don’t worry about brands. It doesn’t matter.

Love the photographs and love the photographer.
